Robert D. Shomo

Robert Daniel Shomo, 25, of Mansfield, OH, formally of Huntington, passed away at 10:10 am Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Avita Health System Ontario Hospital in Ontario, Ohio. Robert was born on September 13, 1996, in Huntington, IN, the son of Troy Shomo and Joy Hare. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 2015. He was a sales associate for many years. Anyone that knew Robert, knew he had a great personality and a very sarcastic sense of humor. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed playing Fortnight. He loved spending time and teaching his nieces and nephews new things. Bowling, fishing, and being outdoors were some of his favorite past times. His true passion was his family and just being with them as much as possible. Survivors include his mother, Joy D. (William R. Finton) Hare of Huntington, IN; father, Troy Robert (Olivia) Shomo of South Whitley, IN; his true love, fiancé, Ashley Gerhart of Mansfield, OH; daughter, Teagan Shomo of Mansfield, OH; soon to be born son, Grayson Robert Shomo; four sisters, Katie (James) Shomo of Huntington, IN, Cameron McClellan of Greensboro, NC, Kayla DeLatorre of Huntington, IN, Phelicia (Joey) Shomo of Lima, OH; brother, Steven DeLatorre of Ohio City, OH; grandparents, Dan and Peggy Johnson of Huntington, IN, Shawn and Deb Gherity of Warren, IN; John Hare of Andrews, IN; Pamela Finton of Ft. Wayne, IN; great grandparents, Lowell and Suzi Jacobs of Zeeland, MI; three aunts, Holly (Travis) Rittenhouse of Bippus, IN, Angel Hare of Huntington, IN, Brandi Johnson of Ft. Wayne, IN; five uncles, Chad Shomo of Huntington, IN, Matt (Lea) Johnson of Ft. Wayne, IN, Tony Finton of MO, Josh Leftwich of Mobile, AL, Kevin Cunningham of Maine; cousins, Alexandra Rittenhouse, Breanna Rittenhouse, Chloe Shomo; nieces and nephews, Aiden, Hadley, Liam, Noah, Theo, and Carson; mother in law, Sue Hall of Utica, OH; . He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Al Shomo and Edgar Leftwich. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 pm at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Family has requested that guest wear Steeler gear or yellow and black shirts. Robert would want everyone to be in casual clothes supporting his team.
