Judge Mark A. McIntosh

Mark A. McIntosh, age 76, of Huntington, died at 10:50p.m., Saturday (February 20, 2010) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Mark was born on August 31, 1933 in Glasgow, Kentucky, the son of George M. and Opal B. (Putnam) McIntosh. He graduated from Hoagland High School, Madison Township, Indiana in 1951. Mark was an under graduate of Michigan State University, and went on to earn his law degree from Indiana University in 1962, as well as a Doctorate of Juris Prudence. On November 5, 1972, Mark married Andrea Brebaugh in Roanoke and she survives. Mark retired in 2007, after 22 years as Circuit Court Judge in Huntington. Before becoming judge he had a private law practice. After graduating from Indiana Law School, he began his law career with Lawrence Carlson Attorney at Law. Mark taught social studies and coached J.V. basketball at Kendallville High School after graduating from Michigan State University. He grew up in the Methodist Church, was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Rotary Club #300, Indiana Bar Association, Huntington County Bar Association, and Indiana Judges Association. Mark loved the Carolina Coast, Top Sail Island, and was a true boater. He also loved playing golf, tennis, basketball, racquet ball, snow skiing, camping, and Nick’s Kitchen with his sidebar friends. Survivors include his wife of 37 years – Andrea McIntosh of Huntington; three sons – Doug (Tina) Fisher of Huntington, Kevin M. (Cyndi) McIntosh of Bloomington, Indiana, and Phillip A. (Julie) McIntosh of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter – Shana (Steve) Working of Huntington; two brothers – Dan G. McIntosh of New Haven, Indiana, and Craig L. McIntosh of Phoenix, Arizona; and eleven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother – Jack McIntosh. Visitation will be 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday (February 24, 2010) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Thursday (February 25, 2010) also at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Father Ron Rieder officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
