Joshua "Josh" L. Reed

Joshua “Josh” Leonard Reed, 45, of Huntington, passed away with his family around him at 2:41 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center Fort Wayne. Josh was born on August 4, 1977, in Huntington, IN, the son of Leonard "Jeff" Reed and Becky (Kemp) Holmes. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1995 and continued his education at Johnson & Wales University where he earned his associate degree in culinary arts. Josh married the love of his life Andrea N. Herring on July 7, 2001, in Huntington, IN. He was a faithful member of Hope Rising Church in Huntington and was currently serving on the board. Josh had worked at Red Gold, Bendix, Fort Wayne Foundry, and he recently took a new position at the Tipton House of Huntington. Josh liked to show off his culinary skills and grill out or smoke meats to share with others. When he wasn’t busy being a band dad for the high school, he enjoyed going camping with his family. His strong faith led him to serve others by leading the marriage ministry and being a part of the men’s group at church. Josh loved doing God’s work and truly believed in always learning and growing. He was an amazing dad that was supportive and involved with his daughters. Josh was a devoted husband, passionate family man and a loyal friend. Survivors include his loving wife, Andrea N. Reed of Huntington, IN; two daughters, Kennedy Reed of Huntington, IN, Cadence Reed of Huntington, IN; father, Leonard J. (Lori) Reed of Huntington, IN; mother, Becky (Gordon) Holmes of TN; twin brother, Jeremy (Danielle) Reed of Bluffton, IN; brother, Kraigh Reed of Ft. Wayne, IN; three sisters, Kara (Barrett) Jones of OK, Katie Holmes of TN, Lauren Holmes of TN; grandfather, Bill Reed of Huntington, IN; grandmother, Janet Heaston of Huntington, IN; father-in-law Mike (Debbie) Herring of Huntington, IN; mother-in-law, Phyllis Herring of Huntington, IN; brother-in-law Brendan (Marcie) Herring of Roanoke, IN; sister-in-law Marie (Jamey) Case of Huntington, IN; nieces and nephews, Savannah, Brooklynn, Loghan, Izabel, Tyler, Kierstynn and Quincy. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Francis Kemp, and Richard Heaston, grandmothers, Vera Kemp, Vera Orr, and Marilyn Reed. Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at Hope Rising Church 1131 Etna Ave, Huntington, IN 46750. A private family service will be held immediately following the friend’s visitation.
