Helen Marie Winterrowd

Helen Marie Winterrowd, 79, of Huntington, passed away at 7:30 pm Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Helen was born on October 25, 1944, in Richwood, OH, the daughter of George Speakman and Thelma (Mullins) Speakman. She attended North Union High School in Richwood, OH. Helen married the love of her life, Steve, on June 12, 1971, in Marion, OH. She retired from Pathfinder Services after 20+ years of service. She was a faithful member of the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. Helen was also a member of the VFW Post 2689 and American Legion Post 7, both in Huntington, IN. One of her favorite past times was going on rides with her husband, Steve, on the motorcycle. Helen was an amazing cook and loved spending time with her family. Her title of “Grandma” was always her favorite role. Her grandchildren will miss her playful personality and quality time they got to spend together, even the Walmart trips where she would chase the grandchildren while driving the mobility scooter. Survivors include her loving Husband, Steve Winterrowd of Huntington, IN; Daughter, Lori Elston of Huntington, IN; Son, Thom (Jody) Winterrowd of Fort Wayne, IN; Four Granddaughters, Cambria (Brad) Menendez of Fort Wayne, IN, Jessica (Ryan) Bruns of Lima, OH, Brooke (Ed) Valdes of Fort Wayne, IN, Brianna Elston of Huntington, IN; Four Grandsons, Bobby (Caitlyn) McKinzie of Norman, OK, Michael McKinzie of Fort Wayne, IN, Jeremy (Lauren) McKinzie of Fort Wayne, IN, Matthew (Brittany) Winterrowd of Fort Wayne, IN; Ten Great Grandchildren; Brother, Steve Speakman of Marion, OH; Two Sisters, Georgie George of Marion, OH, and Carol Sue Lewis of Marion, OH. She is preceded in death by her Father, George Speakman, Mother, Thelma M. Speakman, Sister, Dee Chamberlin, Brother, Jerry Speakman, Sister, Janice Corbin, Sister, Rosie Alderson, Brother, Bob Speakman, Sister, Dottie Wilson, Sister, Shirley French, Brother, Gerald Speakman, Brother, Raymond Speakman, and her Infant Sister, Joyce Speakman. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday, June 10, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, June 10, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Larry Taylor and Rev. Brad Menendez officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.
