Ethel M. Henemyer

Ethel M. Henemyer, age 85, of Huntington, died at 11:00 p.m. Thursday (May 12, 2011) at her home. Ethel was born in Huntington on August 29, 1925, the daughter of Wayne and Ruth (Myers) Johnson. Charles F. and Iona B. Myers lovingly raised her and her brother. Her first marriage was to Kenny McVoy who died during WW II. Ethel then married Fred Henemyer and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1987. Ethel retired as a supervisor for Memcor where she worked for over 22 years. She also worked for the former Bob’s IGA, Huntington, in the meat department. Ethel was a past President and shop chairperson of her Local Union at Memcor. She loved bowling and participated in the sport since 1977 at Rainbow Lanes for over 30 years. Ethel was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2689 Women’s Auxiliary where she played Euchre. She also enjoyed pinochle and loved her dog, Dante, and her cat, Cloe’. Survivors include her daughter - Jill (Ralph) Miller of Huntington; four half-brothers - John Johnson of Huntington, Paul (Helga) Johnson of Huntington, Jim (Judy) Johnson of Elkhart, and Don (Gloria) Johnson of Iron Mountain, Wisconsin; one half-sister - Hilda Charboneau of Arkansas; five grandchildren - Jill (Charles, Jr.) Hall of Huntington, Lon (Tracey) Kindler of Dupont, Washington, Steven Holley of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jason Coburn of Huntington and Ryan (Melissa) Coburn of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; two step-granddaughters - Margaret (Don) Bray of Marion and Rebecca Young of Miramar, Florida; twelve great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Her parents, son - David Henemyer, daughter – Diana Holley, brother - Ray E. Johnson, half-brothers - Robert Johnson and Joseph Johnson, half-sisters - Rosemary Johnson and Catherine Hesting, great-great-granddaughter - Dali Rose Holley-King, and step grandson - Mike Miller preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m. Monday (May 16, 2011) at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (May 17, 2011) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Ray Scribner officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington.
