David L. Miller

David L. Miller, age 63, of Andrews, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (July 7, 2010) at his home. David was born March 21, 1947 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Jessie and Mary Ellen (Storey) Miller. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1966 and went on to receive an Associates Degree in Electronics from Ivy Tech. David then joined the Army and served in the Vietnam War. On July 4, 1995, he married Kathy L. Kuschel Newsome, and she survives. David was a truck driver for the City of Huntington for over 12 years. Previous to that, he was the office manager for the Cable T.V. company in Huntington and a maintenance man for Memcor Inc., Huntington. David was a member of the Christ the King Episcopal Church, of Huntington, the V.F.W. Post #2689, of Huntington, and the Howard County Vietnam Veterans. He is survived by his wife of 15 years – Kathy L. Miller of Andrews; three sons – Robert Miller of Fort Wayne, Roger Jr. (Lori) Newsome of Huntington, and Timothy (Heather) Newsome of Huntington; two daughters – Kathleen (Patrick) Klerner of Fort Wayne, and Jennifer (Clyde) Rife of Lagro, Indiana; one brother – Gerald (Phyllis) Miller of Muncie, Indiana; one sister – Marjorie (Jerry) Heuber of Atlanta, Georgia; one aunt – Bernice Storey of Sullivan, Indiana; ten grandchildren – Ashleigh Miller, Ryan Lahr, Jessica Lewis, Heather Newsome, Melody Henson, Meghan Henson, Amber Curry, Roger Newsome, III, Lacey Travis and Olivia Newsome, all of Huntington; four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday (July 9, 2010), at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (July 10, 2010) at the Christ the King Episcopal Church, 1224 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Father Larry Diller officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s County Line Cemetery, Huntington County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ the King Episcopal Church Building Fund, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750.
