Tommy Karl Morris

Tommy Karl Morris, age 75, of Huntington, died at 12:12 p.m. Monday, (January 12, 2015) at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday (January 15, 2015) at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday (January 16, 2015) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jeff Carrell officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. Military funeral rites will be performed at Bailey-Love Mortuary by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington. Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Tommy was born on October 5, 1939 in Summitville, Indiana, the son of Eugene I. and Euella Clare (Iliff) Morris. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1957 and served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Lucille B. Valdez on February 3, 1961 in Cherry Pointe, North Carolina. Tommy earned an Associate Degree in Business from Chabot Junior College in Hayward, California and studied real estate at Indiana University. He worked in the insurance industry for Western Southern and Prudential. He held his real estate license since 1970 and owned the first real estate franchise in Huntington, ERA Morris and Associates. He later worked at Larry F. Wells and Associates as a Realtor/Broker. He retired in 2004 from real estate with his daughter Kim. He was a member of VFW Post #2689 of Huntington and also Huntington Area Association of Realtors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially watching them grow in all of their activities. Tommy is survived by his wife of 53 years - Lucille B. Morris of Huntington; his son - Karl A. Morris of Huntington; two daughters - Kerri A. Morris of Pensacola, Florida and Kimberly A. Haneline of Huntington; three brothers - Jerry (Dovie) Morris of Alexandria, Steve (Karen) Morris of Purcell, Oklahoma, and Tony (Alice) Morris of Orestes, Indiana; two sisters - Sherrill Benson of Cloverdale and Brenda (Edmond) Hannah of Anderson; and five grandchildren - Kameron Morris, Taylor Morris, Konner Morris, McKenzie Haneline, and Taylor Haneline. His parents and his brother-in-law, Richard Benson, precede him in death.
