Taylor Newsome

June 24, 1933 - September 1, 2021

Taylor Newsome, 88, of Huntington, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at his residence. Taylor was born on June 24, 1933 in Ligon, KY, the son of Crit Newsome and Dixie (Johnson) Newsome. He married Sharon K. Michael on June 23, 1956 at the Markle Church of Christ. Taylor was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Crane Operator with General Motors (Fisher Body) in Marion, IN after 31 years of service. He also enjoyed working at Ness Brothers. Taylor loved woodcrafting, especially making things for his grandchildren. He enjoyed making bird feeders and spending time with his family. Taylor was a member of the VFW Post 2689 and a member of the Sympathy Club in Marion. Survivors include his Spouse, Sharon K. Newsome of Huntington, IN; Three Daughters, Teresa S. (Michael) Brown of Huntington, IN, Tamara (Joseph) Blomeke of Huntington, IN, Sabra (Michael) McComb of Ft. Wayne, IN; Son, Steven (Meg) Newsome of Boise, ID; Brother, Ted Newsome of Andrews, IN; Two Sisters, Sue Burke of Ashland, KY, Elzada (Charles) Henson of Huntington, IN; Six Grandsons, Christopher Brown, Jordan (Erin) Brown, Phillip Blomeke, Matthew Blomeke, Spenser Newsome, Sayre (Ariel) Newsome, and Miles Champine; Six Granddaughters, Jolyn (Nathan) Ingalls, Caitlin (Nathan) Delong, Riley (Patrick) Hermiller, Raegan McComb, Schylar Newsome, and Isla Champine; Six Great-Great Grandsons. He is preceded in death by his Father, Crit Newsome, Mother, Dixie Newsome, Brother, Bob Newsome, Brother, Frank Newsome, Sister, Mary Prater, sister Phyllis Jean Oswalt, and Grandson, Sutton Harrison. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Gerald Moreland officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Markle Cemetery in Markle, IN. Preferred memorials may be made in memory of Taylor to Juvenile Diabetes Research Center, Ft. Wayne or the Foundation Fighting Blindness, or Autism Speaks, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN, 46750. Please sign the online guest book at www.baileylove.com.
