Steve (Newt) D. Newsome Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Steve (Newt) Duane Newsome, 65, of Huntington, passed away at 10:54 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at his residence. Steve was born on March 23, 1957, in McDowell, KY, the son of Charles Newsome and Bernice (Hall) Newsome. He attended Huntington North High School. He retired from City of Huntington after 8 years of service. Steve loved working on old cars and spending time with his grandkids who called him "Papa". He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting, or being on a boat in the water. Survivors include his daughter, Danielle (Jeremiah) Stoffel of Huntington, IN; Two sons, Josh Newsome of Huntington, IN, Blake Newsome of Huntington, IN; Fiancé, Amanda Gillespie of Huntington, IN; Brother, Ray (Joyce) Newsome of Andrews, IN; Sister, Glenna (Wayne) Johnson of Huntington, IN; and 6 Grandchildren, Isaak, Garrett, Kyler, Hayden, Makayla, and Hayes. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Newsome, mother, Bernice Newsome, and sister, Dorothy Little. Visitation will be from 3pm - 7pm on Tuesday, July 5th, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W Park Dr. Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 6th, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Amos Rawley officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
