Phyllis Coleen Nave

Phyllis Coleen Nave, 95, of Huntington, passed away at 10:37 pm Saturday, April 16, 2022, at her residence. Phyllis was born on March 2, 1927, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Howard Chapin and Lillian (Archambeault) Chapin. She attended Huntington High School and married the love of her life Richard D. Nave on June 30, 1945, in Huntington, IN. They shared 55 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 20, 2000. She was an avid reader that had read over 500 Amish books. She enjoyed shopping for bargains and looking for special gifts. She was best known for her excellent cooking and wonderful Sunday meals. Her true passion was her grandchildren and spending time with each of them. Phyllis had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others out. Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Edward) Bustos of Huntington, IN; two grandsons, Todd (Jenny) Weinley of Bluffton, IN, Troy (Kelly) Weinley of Huntington, IN; two granddaughters, Tonya (Mike) Mossburg of Warren, IN, Jennifer (Brian) Double of Huntington, IN; 14, great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Howard E. Chapin, mother, Lillian Chapin, husband, Richard D. Nave, brothers, Merle Chapin, Donald Eugene Chapin, sisters, Vivian L. Edington, Evelyn M. Meekin, Rosalie Moore, Wilma Nadin Drummond, Eileen Ehler, and great-great granddaughter, Dali Rose King. There will be a private family service honoring Phyllis’s wishes.
