Norma J. Betten, age 91, of Huntington, died at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church, 7955 North 900 West, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Saturday at Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Faucett officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Servia. Preferred memorials are to American Cancer Society or Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750. Norma was born on April 27, 1928 in Uniondale, the daughter of Glenn and Ivadel “Irene” (Reece) Rittenhouse. She attended Bippus High School and married Robert Pinkerton; he preceded her in death in 1974. Norma worked in production at Memcor in Huntington for 23 years, retiring in 2003. She married Harry D. Betten on November 19, 1976 in Bippus; he preceded her in death on June 15, 2018. She was a member of Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing and was an excellent cook. Survivors include sons Ted (Barbara) Pinkerton of Roanoke, and Tim (Cinda) Pinkerton of Trotwood, Ohio, a stepdaughter, Karen Vititoe of Mexico, Indiana, a stepson, Michael (Cheryl) Betten of New Castle, a brother, Jim (Patsy) Rittenhouse of New Haven, ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a family friend, Gary Stout of Huntington. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Ernie Rittenhouse.
