Lewis D. Beck, age 86, of Huntington, died at 2:31 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Monday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington. Preferred memorials are to American Diabetes Association, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750. Lewis was born on April 23, 1933 in Huntington, the son of Ernest and Gladys (Jacobs) Beck. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Hunkler Products, Inc., a machine shop in Huntington (later renamed Pik-a-Nut Corporation), retiring in 1986 after 25 years of service. Lewis enjoyed gardening and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. Survivors include a son, James A. (Michelle) Beck of Spring Hill, Florida, a daughter, Julie K. Beck of Huntington, a sister, Doris Myers of Huntington, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Eugene Ralph Beck, and sisters Wilma Beeman and Maxine Weinley.
