Leonard E. Fugate

Leonard E. Fugate, 83, of Huntington, passed away at 4:35 pm Saturday, May 13, 2023 at The Waters of Tipton in Tipton, IN. Leonard was born on November 15, 1939 in Marinette, WI, the son of Robert Fugate and Maryann (Whitaker) Fugate. He was a graduate of Mississinewa High School in Gas City, IN and married Margaret Lou Fultz on January 24, 1959 in Gas City, IN. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2017. Leonard retired from Marsh after 52 years of service, He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #823 and the Moose Lodge in Huntington, where he loved to play pool. He enjoyed gardening and everything about old cars. He was also a member of Hope Rising Church. Survivors include his Two Daughters, Sheila K. (Kenny) Duke of Elwood, IN, Pamela J. (Mike) Borgman of Clarksville, TN; Son, Gene Ervin (Megan Jackson) Fugate of IN; Two Brothers, Wesley Fugate of Mission, TX, Arny (Diana) Fugate of Gas City, IN; Twelve Grandchildren, Mandy (Eric) Ketron, Lindsay Hopkins, Stephanie Borgman, Brittany (Paul Wright) Jacks, John (Sarah) Borgman, Geoffrey Fugate, Tiffany Jacks, Elizabeth (Nathan) Abee, Joshua Ray, Peyton (Zach) Keim, Kyler Fugate, Patrick (Shiann ) Fugate; Great Grandchildren, Emily Borgman, Ethan Ketron, Kynleigh Ketron, Levi Hopkins, Charlotte Hopkins, Addyson Jacks, Paxton Jacks, Finley Wright, Aurie Martin, Lilly Fredericks, Dayton Fugate, Paisley Keim, Evan Ray, Nash Abee, Kaeden Rateau, Harper Borgman, Cooper Borgman, Rhett Keim, Ember Keim, Marilyn Fugate, Blair Locke, Patrick Fugate, Jr., Maverick Fugate; several Nieces, Nephews, and special In-Laws; and two Great Grandchildren on the way, Layla Borgman and Xavian Fugate. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Margaret Lou Fugate, Father, Robert E. Fugate, Mother, Maryann Fugate, Brother, Clifford Fugate, Brother, Robert Fugate, Jr., Sister, Lucille Mikolajewski, Brother, Edward Fugate, Sister, Louise Devoe Gillum, and Sister, Rosie Spence. Visitation will be from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Hope Rising Church, 1131 Etna Avenue, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Hope Rising Church with Pastor Zach Working officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington.
