Karen Kay Anson

March 12, 1957 - January 24, 2022

Karen Kay Anson, 64, of Roanoke, passed away at 10:50 pm Monday, January 24, 2022, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN. Karen was born on March 12, 1957, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Ralph Johnson and Barbara (Eckert) Johnson. She graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1975. She married her middle school sweetheart and the love of her life Arden N. Anson on October 11, 1975, at St. Joseph Church in Roanoke, IN. She worked at Stein Mart of Ft. Wayne for twelve years before the store closed and worked as a Special Needs Bus Aide for Huntington County Community School Corp for five years. Karen was a former member of the United Way and the Huntington 4-H Fair Board. When her daughters were young, she was very active in the Parent Teacher Organization, she was a teacher’s aide for numerous classrooms, a 4-H Leader for Polk Township, and was a coach of several t-ball teams. Karen had a tremendous heart of gold and always willing to help others. She enjoyed decorating, working in her flower or vegetable gardens, and traveling to the beaches in Florida. She loved to worked side by side with her husband on the family farm. Her true passion was her family and loving on her grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Arden N. Anson of Roanoke, IN; four daughters, Andrea' (Jeff) White of Andrews, IN, Angela (Scott) Ulrich of Wilmington, NC, Apryl (Darren) Goeglein of Huntington, IN, Autumn (Sam) Scher of Huntington, IN ; nine grandchildren, Sam, Connor, Chole, Logan, Briggs, Isaiah, Reece, Maci, Samson, father, Ralph Johnson of Huntington; four sisters, Cindy (Doug) Spice of Huntington, IN, Polly (Jack) Dennis of Roanoke, IN, Darlene (Brent) Stanley of Huntington, IN, Elaine (Dave) Felton of Huntington, IN; brother, Ryan (Robin) Johnson of Huntington, IN; in-laws, Mark (Juanita) Anson of Andrews, IN; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Johnson and infant sister, Carla Johnson. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Private graveside service will be held at the Union Cemetery. Please follow local recommendations of social distancing and remember if you or your family is not feeling well, we ask that you don’t attend the visitation to keep everyone safe.
