Helen L. Pence

January 17, 1927 - April 26, 2022

Helen L. Pence, age 95, Huntington, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at North Woods Village in Ft. Wayne. Helen retired from Raytheon in 1983 after 23 years of service. Helen was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #2689 Auxiliary. She was a 1945 graduate of Huntington Township School. She enjoyed feeding the birds and was an avid gardener. Helen was born on January 17, 1927, in Wells County, Indiana, daughter of William H. and Anna C. (Miller) Davis. She married Charles F. Pence on August 27, 1947, in Huntington. Charles preceded her in death June 22, 2008. Survivors include one son Charles A. “Squeek” Pence of Warren, two daughters Diana (James) Stucker and Jackie (Gene) Towns, both of Markle, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren and two feline companions Sunny and Timmy. Helen is also survived by two sisters R. Joan Hoover of Fort Wayne and Carolyn Davis of Fremont, plus several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband of over 60 years, Helen was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Dale J. Davis and William L. Davis. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Larry Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Huntington County.
