Georgia C. Wintrode

Georgia C. Wintrode, 77, of Wabash, passed away at 7:05 pm Thursday, February 10, 2022, at her residence. Georgia was born on January 15, 1945, in Bethlehem, IN, the daughter of John Ervin and Kathren (Hooker) Ervin. She received her GED and attended Dietitian classes at Indiana Tech of Fort Wayne, IN. She married the love of her life Jerald “Jerry” T. Wintrode Jr. on November 16, 1985, in Huntington, IN. They shared 26 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 30, 2011. She had work in food service but mostly was a homemaker. Georgia enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, watching the birds, and going to garage sales. Her hobbies include canvas painting and making quilts for family members. She loved her large family and spending time with them. Survivors include her son, David W. Barton of Huntington, IN; three daughters, Deneen (Ben) Sargent of Ft. Wayne, IN, Dianna Fletcher of Wabash, IN, Debra Asher of Hot Springs, AR; two brothers, Stan (Jennifer) Ervin of Warren, IN, Jerry Thomas of Hayward, WI; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, John Ervin, mother, Kathren Ervin, husband, Jerry Wintrode, Jr., brother, David Ervin and great granddaughter, Sessie Rose Parker. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Major Gerald Smelser officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington.
