Ellen M. Hackett

Ellen M. Hackett, 51, of Andrews, passed away at 7:57 am Saturday, March 19, 2022. Ellen was born on December 21, 1970, in Bluffton, IN, the daughter of Rev. Henry Hackett and Betty (Ellenberger) Hackett. She graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1989 and attended classes at Ball State University. She was a Post Closer for Hallmark Home Mortgage of Fort Wayne for the past 5 years. She was a faithful member and served as the Café & Meal Coordinator at Faith Community Church of God in Huntington. She currently held the office as Deputy Dallas Township Trustee and was one of the founding members of Andrews Community Helpers. Ellen was very passionate about giving back to her community and others, she served on the Andrews Western Day committee board, organized many benefits, managed several donation drives, was a dedicated volunteer at Blessed Portions Food Ministry and New Life Ministries. Ellen had a true servant’s heart, when someone was in need, she was there without being asked. She was a take charge kind of woman, and some may even say she was the Mayor of Andrews. She enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Alabama Crimson Tide. She was known for her wonderful cooking and mastering art of food presentation. Ellen's true love was her daughter, Jordan and being a supportive mom was the most important part of her life. Survivors include her daughter, Jordan Hofmann of Huntington, IN; three sisters, Ferol (Philip) Labash of Mount Morris, IL, Bonnie (Earnest) Vandeventer of Elizabeth, IN, Sherry Carver of AZ; three brothers, David B. (Teri) Wilson of Milford, IN, Bradford T. Hackett of OH, Paul H. Hackett of IN; many nieces and nephews; Fiancé, Larry Kinsey and his four children Tad, Aaron, Torin, and Xavier Kinsey. Ellen is also survived by many friends that called her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Henry E. Hackett, mother, Betty J. Hackett, brother, Steven E. Hackett, sisters, Cheryl Wilson-Lynch, and Mary R. Hackett. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 25, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Andrews Riverside Cemetery in Andrews.
