Charles "Charlie" D. Brumbaugh, 87, of Huntington, died at 6:50 pm Friday, January 1, 2021 at Millers Merry Manor of Huntington. Charlie was born on July 17, 1933 in Huntington, IN, the son of Don Brumbaugh and Opal Brumbaugh (Lewis). He graduated from Huntington Township High School with the class of 1951 and then proudly enlisted in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge he married the love of his life, Doris Jean Ware on September 1, 1956 at the Central Christian Church in Huntington, IN. He was employed at E-Systems (Memcor) as a Manufacturing Engineer for 27 years. He then worked at ITT Aerospace Communications Division, Ft. Wayne for 15 years where he retired. He was also a Wedding Photographer with his son Terry, from 1978 to 2000. He was a member of the Faith Community Church of God in Huntington. He was a Greeter, Usher and served on the Finance Committee Board for many years. Charlie enjoyed woodworking and computers. He was known throughout Huntington for making wooden name plates for many individuals. He had an incredible faith and loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving Wife, Doris Jean Brumbaugh of Huntington; Two Sons, Terry Lee (Diane) Brumbaugh of Huntington, Jerry Wayne (Teresa) Brumbaugh of Huntington; Daughter, Cynthia (Doug) Farlow of Fort Wayne, IN; Three Sisters, Pat Hayes; Lee Harris and, Dollie Wallace of Valpariso, IN, One Brother, Robert Brumbaugh of LaPort, IN; Three Grandsons, Adam (Chris R.) Brumbaugh of Lake Nona, FL; Christopher (Brittney) Brumbaugh of Huntington, Josh Wiley of Huntington; Two Granddaughters, Jennifer Shumaker of Harlan, IN, Jessica Williams of Ft. Wayne, IN; and 10 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Father, Don Charles Brumbaugh, Mother, Opal Mae Brumbaugh Lewis, Brothers, Ted Lewis, Larry Lewis and Sister, Betty Willour. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Miller’s Merry Manor of Huntington who went above and beyond their care during Charlie’s last eight months. Due to the current Executive Order, masks and social distancing are required. The funeral home is limited to 50 people at one time.
