Carol J Strickler, 81, of Huntington, died at 10:00 pm Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. Carol was born on August 20, 1939 in Batesville, IN the daughter of Theodore Creech and Edith (Hill) Creech. She graduated from Warren Central High School of Indianapolis with the class of 1957, and attended Indiana University and International Business College. She married Roger "Rocky" Strickler on September 17, 1960. They made their home in Huntington IN. She worked at Sixth Corps-Fort Benjamin Harrison, International Harvester, Beech Grove Community Hospital, Huntington Laboratory/Eco Lab and Co-Owned/Managed Rocky's World and Second Generation Family Eatery, President of ROCA Inc. and Director of Shane Inc. Carol was a member and Past President of American Business Women Association, Past President of Altrusa International, member and held many offices in the Huntington County Literacy Coalition, she was a volunteer for the Whitley County Humane Shelter and Lifetime member of Huntington Humane Shelter, served on several advisory boards for Huntington University and was involved with the Girl Scouts. One of her greatest volunteer contributions was volunteering at the Parkview Huntington Hospital, where she was Past President of the Parkview Huntington Hospital Guild. Carol was always busy attending conferences, meetings, and events for the different organizations she was involved with. She felt that giving back to the community was very important. Her hours and dedication will be deeply missed. Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Roger "Rocky" Strickler of Huntington, IN; daughter, Shari K. Strickler of Huntington, IN; son, Shane K. (Denna Crago) Strickler of Huntington, IN; cousin Dr. Kenneth (Jo Ann) Creech of Fishers, IN; sister in law, Carolyn Sue (Joseph) Strickler Ditto of Laguna Niguel, CA; two brothers in law, Robert A. (Mary) Strickler of Decatur, IN; Riley Vian of Fort Wayne, IN; Aunt Bernadine Hammond of Decatur, IN; several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Bear. Carol was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Creech and mother, Edith Creech, father in law, Robert G. Strickler, mother in law, Ruth Strickler, two sisters in law Sharon Vian and Vicki Strickler. Visitation will be held 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. with Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Bailey-Love Mortuary 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana with Rev. Ray Seilhamer officiating.
