Bobby J. Sands

Bobby J. Sands, 81, of Andrews, passed away at 7:00 am Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his residence. Bobby was born on December 28, 1940 in Huntington, IN, the son of Leo M. Sands and Marie (Fanning) Sands. He attended Huntington High School and married Susan Kay Jones on January 24, 1967 in Huntington, IN. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2003. Bobby retired as a Cupola Operator from Isolatek after 40+ years of service, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved mushroom hunting, watching birds and John Wayne movies. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his Two Sons, Bobby E. (Melissa) Sands of Marion, IN, Loyd A. Sands of New Castle, IN; Grandson, Bobby A. (Kylee) Sands of Andrews, IN; Two Great Grandchildren, Annabelle Sands of Andrews, IN, Sophia Sands of Andrews, IN. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Susan Kay Sands, Daughter, Melanie Sands, Mother, Marie Sands, Father, Leo Maurice Sands, Brothers, Ronnie Sands, Gary Sands, Larry Sands, Leonard Sands, Eldon Sands, and Donald Sands, Sisters, Betty J. Broxon, Rosemary Zeller, Dondis Carpenter, and Nadine Baker. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, May 6, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Andrews Riverside Cemetery in Andrews.
