Betty J. Broxon

Betty J. Broxon, 95, of Huntington, passed away at 11:42 pm Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Betty was born on December 11, 1926 in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Leo Sands and Marie (Fanning) Sands. She graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1945 and married John Omer Broxon on December 28, 1946 in Huntington, IN. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2006. She retired as an Inspector at Magnavox in Ft. Wayne after 25 years of service. She also worked at Vtrad Corp. for 6 years and Pyle Speaker Plant for 13 years. Betty was a member of the Huntington Church of the Brethren where she was involved in the Women's Fellowship. She was also a Greeter and sang with the Church Choir. She loved to volunteer and she enjoyed puzzle books and word searches. Survivors include her Son, John C. (Amy) Broxon of Huntington, IN; Two Brothers, Gary (Mary) Sands of Huntington, IN, and Bob Sands of Andrews, IN; Two Granddaughters, Christina Broxon of Huntington, IN, and Andrea Broxon of Huntington, IN. She is preceded in death by her Husband, John Omer Broxon, Father, Leo M. Sands, Mother, Marie J. Sands, Sisters, Dondas M. Carpenter, Rosemary Mae Zeller, and Nadine Baker, Brothers, Larry Sands, Eldon Sands, Donald Sands, Leonard Sands, and Ronald Sands. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 28, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Christy Knecht officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
