Tim L. McCune

Tim L. McCune, 61, of Huntington, passed away peacefully at 12:17 am Tuesday, August 5, 2025, surrounded by his family at home after a tough battle with ALS. Tim was born on May 26, 1964, in Huntington, IN, the son of Joyce McCune and Betty (Carroll) McCune. He graduated from Huntington North High School Class of 1982 and married Susan Carr Seabolt on August 30, 2014, in Gatlinburg, TN. Tim learned about hard work from a young age. His father set an example for him, teaching that doing your best is important, no matter what the job was. He worked part time for his father at J. McCune and Sons from 1972-1999. Tim was also employed at Shuttleworth of Huntington from 1984-2011. Until his recent illness he was a school bus driver for Huntington County Community School Corporation for 10 years. Being the likeable guy he was, Tim’s friendships and relationships were built on a foundation of unwavering loyalty and trust, qualities that became the cornerstones of his character and the reasons so many gravitated toward him. Tim was often finding ways to make others laugh and his sense of humor was contagious. Tim was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed cheering on his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. One of Tim’s favorite stories was about the day he got to put on a racing suit and drove around the Talladega track. Some may say he enjoyed anything that had four wheels and turned left, even if he was just mowing his yard. He did it in true Tim fashion with a smile on his face. Tim looked forward to going on adventures with his wife and trying new places for dinner. All the little things that made Tim who he was couldn’t compare to the little ones that called him Grandpa. He loved his family more than anything in the world and wanted nothing more than for them to be happy. Survivors include his Wife, Susan McCune of Huntington, IN; Daughter, Amber (Aaron) Beemer of Huntington, IN; Sons, Ryan (Samantha) McCune of Eaton, IN, Travis McCune of Markle, IN; Step-Daughter, Allie (Derek) Miller of Huntington, IN; Step-Son, Tyler (Kelsey) Seabolt of North Manchester, IN; Mother, Betty M. McCune of Huntington, IN; Sister Cynthia “Cindi” McCune; Brother, Randal "Randy"(Jani) McCune of Huntington, IN; Grandchildren, Chelsea, Luka, Madi, Parker, Wyatt, Gavyn, Tatum, Emersyn, Everley, Navy; and several Nieces & Nephews.
