Simeon Edward Reed

Simeon Edward Reed, 47, of Warren, passed away at 10:35 am Saturday, February 5, 2022, at his residence. Simeon was born on January 5, 1975, in Huntington, IN, the son of Jere Reed and Karen (Snyder) Reed. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1993 and was currently studying maintenance technology at Ivy Tech Community College. He married the love of his life Amanda Lynn Loyd on February 22, 1997, in Andrews, IN. He was employed at Bendix of Huntington, IN. for the past 14 years. He was a member of the Warren Volunteer Fire Department, Huntington County Emergency Management Team, and the current President of the Freedom Riders Chapter 5 of Huntington. He lived to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed target shooting, deer hunting, the outdoors, and camping with friends. For those who knew Simeon understood he could be stubborn, playful, but mostly selfless. He truly had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others out. He loved his family and was most proud of becoming a grandpa to his pride and joy Addilyn. Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Amanda Lynn Reed of Warren, IN; father, Jere D. Reed of Andrews, IN; mother, Karen Reed of Andrews, IN; son, Taylor W. Reed of Warren, IN; daughter, Kaitlyn K. (Kerstyn Street) Reed of Warren, IN; granddaughter, Addilyn Street of Warren, IN.; grandmother, Mary Katherine Snyder of Andrews, IN; stepmother, Jo Ann Reed of Ft. Wayne, IN; mother in-law, Freida Feltner of Warren, IN. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill G. Snyder, Edward W. Reed, Ruth P. Reed, and father-in-law, Bryan T. Feltner. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Mike Gallant officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
