Shane A. Miller

Shane A. Miller, 45, of Huntington, passed away at 2:37 pm Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN, surrounded by loved ones. Shane was born on July 20, 1979, in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Steven Miller and Carol (Atteberry) Thomas. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1997. He then married Carrie Jo Kennedy on October 25, 1997, in Huntington, IN. Shane worked for GFL Environmental for 3 years. Prior to that, he was a driver for Dean’s Dairy in Huntington, IN. Shane was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shane was the epitome of a family man; above all else, he loved his family dearly. Shane enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing Magic: The Gathering. He liked computers, technology, shooting guns, was known as a jack of all trades and loved serving others. Shane was also an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. Survivors include his Wife, Carrie Jo Miller of Huntington, IN; Five Sons, Hugh (Emily) Miller of Fort Wayne, IN, Mason Miller of Huntington, IN, Matthew Miller of Wabash, IN, Keith Miller of Huntington, IN, and Derick Miller of Huntington, IN; Daughter, Julianna Miller of Huntington, IN; Mother, Carol (Mathew) Thomas of Markle, IN; Three Sisters, Kay Szelis of Markle, IN, Amber (Heath) Eppard of Markle, IN, and Ashley (Curt) Frewer of Decatur, IN; Two Brothers, John Miller of Huntington, IN, and Shawn Miller of Huntington, IN; Father-In-Law, Ian Keith "John" Kennedy of Huntington, IN; Mother-In-Law, Vicki Kennedy of Huntington, IN; Brother-In-Law, Ian (Sarah) Kennedy of Lebanon, IN; Two Sisters-In-Law, Regina Kennedy of Huntington, IN, Cathy (Leroy) Scott of Huntington, IN; and Several Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father, Steven Miller, and Brother-In-Law, Edward “Ed” Szelis. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1190 500 N, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, August 20, 2024, with Bishop Glen Hargan officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery in Wabash, IN.
