Roger W. Vance

Roger W. Vance, 81, of Huntington, passed away at 1:50 pm Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Parkview Huntington Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born on February 14, 1945, in Ligon, KY, the son of Arnold Vance and Helen (Poteet) Vance. He graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1963 and proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force. On June 23, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart Judy K. Bolinger in Huntington, IN. They made a beautiful life in Huntington, raising their two daughters Tammy & Tia. Roger worked for Internation Harvester for over 20 years before retiring from Cline Transfer & Storage Co after 10 years of service as a warehouse supervisor. He was a member of the American Legion Post #7 and Cruzin Just for Fun, both of Huntington. Roger believed in working hard and providing for his family, but he also understood it was just as important to enjoy the simple things in life. Roger was passionate about coin collecting, metal detecting, mushroom hunting, fishing, and classic cars, especially his 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner. He valued family above all and enjoyed making memories with each of them. Their vacations and camping trips were always filled with adventure. Roger also was his kids and grandkid’s biggest fan, never missing a sporting event. His kindness knew no boundaries, he was always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or brighten someone's day. Roger's warmth touched friends, neighbors, and everyone lucky enough to cross his path. Survivors include his loving Wife of 61 years, Judy K. Vance of Huntington, IN; Two Daughters, Tammy (Rodney) Martin of Huntington, IN, Tia (Patrick) Cook of Andrews, IN; Ten Grandchildren; Twenty-Six Great Grandchildren; Brother, David Vance of Ft. Wayne, IN. He is preceded in death by his Father, Arnold Vance, Mother, Helen Vance, Sister, Maudie Braun, Brother, Mike Vance. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
