Randy A. Smith

Randy A. Smith, 71, of Huntington, passed away at 10:03 am Sunday, June 21, 2026 at his residence. Randy was born on June 25, 1954 in Huntington, IN, the son of Merritt J. Smith and M. Helen (Holmes) Smith. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the Class of 1972 and married Debra D. Kelly on September 22, 1973 in Huntington County, IN. Randy worked as a welder at Orton Crain in Huntington before spending 28 years at LM&L Corporation in Columbia City, Indiana. He later worked at Majestic in Huntington. He loved golfing, bowling, watching sports, farming, and caring for his yard. Randy was a member the Moose Lodge 837 in Huntington, the Steel Workers Union, and the UAW. Randy was also a Silent Partner in Deb's Hair Designs of Huntington. Survivors include his loving Wife, Debra D. Smith of Huntington, IN; Son, Michael (Amy) Smith of Huntington, IN; Daughter, Michelle (Jason) Ward of Huntington, IN; Two Grandchildren, Colt Ropp of Huntington, IN, Alexyea Ward of Ft. Wayne, IN; Two Great Grandchildren, Haeden Ropp of Ft. Wayne, IN, Remii Ropp of Huntington, IN; Two Brothers, Brent Quinn of Huntington, IN, Danny Smith of Huntington, IN; Sister-in-Law, Connie Alston of Marion, IN; and several Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father, Merritt J. Smith, Mother, M. Helen Smith, Mother-In-Law, Betty A. Esarey, and Father-in-Law, Fallis D. Esarey. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 26, 2026 at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jason Parsons officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery in Huntington.
