Marjorie Lou Reed

Marjorie Lou (Pasko) Reed entered heaven’s gates on April 25, 2025 at 2:10 pm after 90 years of a beautiful life well-lived. She was born on September 23, 1934 to her parents, Glenn and Merlie (Jarvis) Pasko, and to her first and longest-standing friend, her sister Maradel (Pasko) Snowden. She graduated as the valedictorian from Union Township High School in 1952. There she met the love of her life, Maurice Reed. They fell in love and married on August 30, 1953, at Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. Marjorie’s life was one of service to Christ and others. At the age of 12, she began serving at Huntington First Church of the Nazarene by leading the children’s music, an activity she would later do with other young teenagers, mentoring them in service as she served. Over the years, she served in many volunteer roles including Sunday School Supervisor and Teacher, Children’s & Adult’s Choir Director, Band & Choir Member, Nursery Attendant, Church Board Member, Bible School Director and Teacher, Alabaster Offering Chair on the Missions Council, and many other roles. Marjorie coordinated many ministries and special events including the Children’s Talent Rally, Adult and Children’s Christmas Programs, and others. One of her greatest joys in service was to her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, a caring and supportive mother and grandmother, and a friend to many. Remaining on this earth is her family including devoted sons Greg (Ruth) Reed, Gary (Julie) Reed, Rick (Sylvia) Reed, and Rod (Sarah) Reed, nine adoring grandchildren including Megan (Jonathan) Reed-Hansen, Brad (Natalea) Reed, Allison (Jacob) Gregory, Leigh Ann Green, Anna (Brian) Reed, Rebecca (Jaaziah) Reed Odongo, Emily (Haden) Malmstrom, Kate (Jotham) Drayton, and Hannah Reed, and nine great-grandchildren including Carter, Andorra, Darren, Boston, Gibson, Brynlee, Hallie, Grayson, and Nolan. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Maurice Reed, her parents Glenn and Merlie (Jarvis) Pasko, and her sister Maradel (Pasko) Snowden. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Huntington First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Huntington First Church of the Nazarene with Scott Rainey officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in the Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
