Marilynn Mae Maher

Marilynn Mae Maher, 93, of Huntington, passed away at 8:20 am Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne, IN. Marilynn was born on February 20, 1931, in Ft. Wayne, IN, the daughter of Joseph and Florence Miller. She graduated from Central Catholic High School with the class of 1949. Marilynn married the love of her life Joseph Maher on November 10, 1956. They shared 48 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on September 11, 2005. She retired from Indiana Soil & Water Conservation District as Administrative Assistant after several years of loyal service. Marilynn was a faithful member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Huntington. She also was a past member of Tri Kappa and Child Conservation Club of Huntington County. Marilynn was truly passionate about taking care of her husband and their children. As their family grew, so did Marilynn's love for their times together. She enjoyed cooking, decorating and preparing their home for visits and had an undeniable love for dogs. She also was resilient and relied on her strong faith to carry her through life's ups and downs. Marilynn's devotion and love will live on in those she cherished. Survivors include her son, Tim (Laura) Maher of Fort Wayne, IN; three daughters, Elizabeth (Tom) Pentenburg of Fort Wayne, IN, Kelley (Bill) Miller of Huntington, IN, Marilynn (Dan) Fagan of Indianapolis, IN; fifteen grandchildren, Cameron (Shelby) Yordy, Andy Maher, Nick (Makayla) Maher, Bill (Cassie) Miller, Nick (Peyton) Miller, Katie (Andy) Spahr, John (Shania) Miller, Patrick Miller, Anna (Andy) Klimek, Molly (Riley) Coonan, Marty (Caroline) Pentenburg, Jack Pentenburg, Patrick Fagan, Joe (Julie) Fagan, Mary Claire (Eric) Smith; seventeen great grandchildren, and an additional five on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Maher, daughter, Mollie Maher, parents, Joseph and Florence Miller, and brothers, James Miller, and Tim Miller. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday, October 26, 2024, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, with Fr. Tony Steinacker officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials to the Masses to SS.
