Lillian Mae Ray

Lillian Mae Ray, 91, of Huntington, passed away at 7:07 am Friday, June 5, 2026 at her residence. Lillian was born on January 5, 1935 in Bluffton, IN, the daughter of Kenneth Millington and Sarah (Lutz) Millington. She graduated from Petroleum High School with the Class of 1952 and married Robert E. Ray on November 11, 1985 in Huntington, IN. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2012. She retired from Memcor after 28 years of service and was a member of the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for several years. Lillian loved to read and visit yard sales. She played the piano, organ, and accordion. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her Son, Timothy Allen (Theresa) Wheeler of Huntington, IN; Three Daughters, Joyce Ann Mollette of Huntington, IN, Janet L. (Charles) Spencer of Markle, IN, Berniece (Terry) Shenefield of Huntington, IN; Two Step-Sons, Joseph (Cindy) Ray of Indianapolis, IN, Tom Ray of Indianapolis, IN; Three Step-Daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Herring of Shelbyville, IN, Laura Kinnaman of Lafontaine, IN, Roberta (Tom) Kattau of Indianapolis, IN; Brother, Ned E. (Sue) Millington of Huntington, IN; Three Sisters, Sarah K. (Bob) Legg of Lafontaine, IN, Nancy J. DeYarmen of Lafontaine, IN, Betty Sills of Huntington, IN; Two Daughter in Laws, Mary Wheeler of New Haven, IN, and Nancy Wheeler; Eleven Grandchildren; Twenty-Five Great Grandchildren; Twenty-Three Great-Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Father, Kenneth L. Millington, Mother, Sarah E. Millington, Husband, Robert E. Ray, Son, J. David Wheeler, Son, Roger Dale Wheeler, Step-Son, Danny Ray, Step-Son, Jerry Ray, Brother, Wayne Millington, Brother, Harvey Millington, Sisters, Norma Archbold, Bonnie Sue Clark, Mary Lou Enyeart, Irene Sands, Doris Ann Millington, Dorothy Elston, and Sister-in-Law, Linda L. Millington. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Scott Rainey and Pastor John Trout officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
