Lendley Franklin "Len" Cross

Lendley Franklin “Len” Cross, age 81, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Len was born on May 8, 1945, to Kathleen Murphy and Harold Cross. He was the beloved husband of Christine Jean Cross and a devoted father to Dawn, Tracee, Todd, and Josh. He was also a loving stepfather to Lora and Tammy. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He leaves behind 13 cherished grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren who will carry forward the memories, lessons, and love he shared throughout his life. He is survived by his sister, Bev Houser, along with many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen Murphy and Harold Cross, and his brother, Bob Yoder. Len dedicated many years of his career as a skilled Tool and Die Maker before retirement. Even after retiring, his passion for craftsmanship continued through woodworking, where he created beautiful wooden chests, cutting boards, and other handmade pieces that reflected his talent, creativity, and pride in a job well done. Len was also a dedicated First Responder for the Mt. Etna Fire Department for 20+ years. A man of many interests and talents, Len enjoyed hunting, marksmanship, golfing, and was well known among family and friends as a pool shark. He loved spending time outdoors, gathering with loved ones, celebrating special occasions, and watching fireworks light up the night sky. Whether he was sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or enjoying time with those closest to him, Len’s presence brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. Len will be remembered for his strong work ethic, skilled hands, generous heart, and deep devotion to family and friends. The legacy he leaves behind is one of love, craftsmanship, friendship, and countless treasured memories. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
