Kenneth H. Miller Sr.

Kenneth H. Miller Sr., 84, of Huntington, passed away at 12:22 pm Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington. Kenneth was born on October 29, 1939, in Ft. Wayne, IN, the son of Holmes Miller and Marie (Stolte) Miller. He attended Elmhurst High School in Ft. Wayne, IN, and married Helen Marie Hockemeyer on March 1, 1986, in Huntington, IN. They shared 34 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on June 9, 2020. Kenneth retired from General Electric after 28 years of loyal service. He was a faithful member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont, IN where he helped prepare the annual Easter morning breakfast, participated in trunk-or-treat, and volunteered with Santa's Helpers. Kenneth also was a member of West Otter Lake Association and the Thrivent Financial of Angola. He loved being outdoors, hunting, trapping, and fishing at the lakes. Kenneth eagerly anticipated his trips up to Canada to fish for Walleye. When he wasn’t busy baiting a hook, he was out on the boat or camping at his favorite place Manapogo Park before retiring to permanent lake life at West Otter Lake in Angola, IN. When stuck inside due to the weather he enjoyed playing cards or Tri-Ominos with his wife or watching TV, especially old westerns, or cartoons with his grandchildren. Kenneth was a devoted family man and felt blessed to have a large family. He was passionate about making memories with his grandkids that would last a lifetime. Kenneth is survived by his children from his first marriage with Phylis Elser, Kenneth Miller, Jr. of Bradenton, FL; Rhonda (Steve) Herkins of Malvern, PA, Debra (Keith) Ferguson of Port Charlotte, FL; Two Stepdaughters, Cynthia (Keith) Tobin of Huntington, IN, Sara (Rodney) Wilson of Celina, OH; Stepson, David Baumgartner of Huntington, IN; Three Brothers, James (Sharon) Miller of Ft. Wayne, IN, George (Paulette) Bufink of Churubusco, IN, Michael (Carol) Bufink of Churubusco, IN; Thirteen Grandchildren; and Eight Great Grandchildren with the 9th one due in July. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Helen Marie Miller, Father, Holmes L Miller, Mother, Marie G. Bufink, and Stepfather, Donald Bufink. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Jeffrey Teeple officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
