Katherine C. Delauter

Katherine C Delauter, 102, of Huntington, passed away at 9:45 am Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Tipton Place. Katherine was born on June 22, 1919 in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Arthur Elsasser and Clara (McNally) Elsasser. She graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1938 and married Robert C. Delauter on March 27, 1964 in Gas City, IN. They shared 13 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 27, 1977. She proudly worked in the credit department at Sears Roebuck in Indiana and California for 25 years and retired from the Credit Bureau in Marion, IN, after a few years of service. Katherine was a member of St. Peter's First Community Church of Huntington, Eastern Star, Women's Club and she was a member at large with Delta Theta Tau National Sorority. She was a dedicated volunteer at Love INC of Huntington and she spent several hours working the polls during the elections. Katherine enjoyed word search puzzles, ceramics and being active outside working in her yard. She loved spending time with her sisters and looked forward to being a greeter at church. Survivors include her son, Robert E. (Tammy) Delauter of Saint Albans, WV, two daughters, Bonnie (Kelly) Nay of Cape Coral, FL, Sheryl Delauter of Ft. Wayne, IN, grandson, Samuel Delauter of Teays Valley, WV, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Elsasser, mother, Clara Elsasser, husband, Robert C. Delauter, sister, Anna Mae Lynn, sister, Maxine Ungerer, brother, Arthur R. Elsasser Jr., sister, Betty Bumgardner and sister, Mildred Binder. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Adam Jones officiating. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory.
