Judy A Simon, 72, of Wapakoneta, OH and formerly of Huntington, IN passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, September 22, 2025, at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, OH. Judy was born on October 8, 1952, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Eddie VanMeter and Mary (Randall) VanMeter. She attended Huntington High School and married her high school sweetheart Timothy W. Simon on June 19, 1970, in Huntington, IN. Judy was a member of the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene and a Girl Scout Leader for several years. Judy was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her boundless love and her selfless spirit. As a devoted mother, she opened her heart and home to many children over the years, offering warmth, kindness, and unwavering support to all who needed it. Her nurturing nature was a beacon of comfort, and she created a loving environment where everyone felt welcome. Judy also found great joy in her creative pursuits. Whether she was making crafts, knitting cozy gifts for loved ones, or baking delicious treats, she poured her heart into everything she did. Her handmade creations were cherished by family and friends, serving as lasting reminders of her thoughtfulness and care. Travel was another of Judy’s passions. She always looked forward to exploring the country alongside her beloved husband, embracing new adventures and making memories that would last a lifetime. These journeys were filled with laughter, discovery, and the deep companionship that defined their partnership. Above all, Judy’s greatest legacy is her selfless heart. She touched countless lives with her generosity, compassion, and unwavering support. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her example of kindness and love will continue to inspire future generations. Survivors include her loving Husband of 55 years, Timothy W. Simon of Wapakoneta, OH; Daughter, Michelle Matthews of Nahunta, NC; Son, Kyle (Amanda) Simon of Saint Mary's, OH; Two Sisters, Beverly (Ken) Burton of TX, Betty (Robert) Herring of Huntington, IN; Six Grandchildren, Kallie, Jack “Chase”, Timothy, David, Dante, John; and One Great Grandchild, Olivia. She is preceded in death by her Father, Eddie VanMeter, Mother, Mary VanMeter, Siblings, Marsha Fowler, Donna Kuric, David Bower, Rolland Scarborough, Gary Scarborough, and Tom Scarborough. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jason Fields officiating. Burial will be in Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
