John W. Bischoff

John W. Bischoff, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 11:20am Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025, at Lutheran Life Villages of Pine Valley in Fort Wayne. John was born the son of Paul and Austa Mae (Riggers) Bischoff on March 11, 1952.in Huntington, IN. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the Class of 1970. After high school, John started work in the printing industry at Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington and became a journeyman cutter. Through the years he worked for several other printing companies including R. R. Donnelly, Renaissance, and EP Graphics. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Huntington, IN. John loved bowling, military history, military movies, and watching sports. He bowled his entire life starting in youth leagues at the former Hotel Lafontaine Lanes in Huntington, then for many years in the Rainbow Lanes Monday Pastime league, Tuesday night Twi-Light league and many other leagues and tournaments in Huntington and Fort Wayne through the years. He did not have a good relationship with the 10-pin and might show a little emotion if he left it or missed it. Many years ago, he also played church and industrial league basketball, golf and softball. He loved Indiana University basketball, the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics and Chicago Bears. He was an expert at military history facts and information. John could be a little gruff at times but had the heart of a big teddy bear. John enjoyed seeing family and loved his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and hearing about them, seeing their pictures and videos. Survivors include his brother James (Stacey) Bischoff of Fort Wayne, IN, nephews Adam (Jennifer) Kasmier of Fort Wayne, IN, Connor Brown, of Fort Wayne, IN, and niece Elizabeth (Wade) Finicle of Huntington, IN and several great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul J Bischoff, mother Austa Mae (Riggers) Bischoff, and sister Susan Lynn Bischoff. Burial will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Huntington, IN. A memorial service may be planned at a later time. Preferred memorials for John may be made in memory of the American Heart Association and St. Peter Lutheran Church in care of Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN, 46750.
