Gerald E. Landrum

Gerald Eugene Landrum, 72, of North Manchester, passed away peacefully at 8:12 am Friday, April 7, 2023, at his home. Gerald was born on June 29, 1950, in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Dean Landrum and Beulah (Colclesser) Landrum. He graduated from Manchester High School with the class of 1969 and enlisted into the US Army National Guard. Gerald married Lois Fritz on September 4, 1971, in Fort Wayne and they were blessed with three children. He was a member of New Hope UCC formerly St. John’s UCC of Bippus and The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union. Gerald was a proud lifetime farmer and also worked at Wabash Alloys for seven years and Hayes Lemmerz for seven years. While at Hayes he was known as “Pappy” by everyone. Gerald’s passion for livestock and farming started at a young age. He was a 10-year 4-H member and made sure his children and grandchildren had the same opportunity. Gerald was an avid sports fan for the Purdue Boilermakers, Detroit Tigers, Miami Dolphins, and a loyal season ticket holder for Manchester High School basketball games. His favorite sporting events to attend were the ones that his grandchildren competed in. He enjoyed bowling league nights, watching tractor pulls, and anything to do with Oliver Tractors and Chevy Trucks. Gerald’s devotion and love to his family was undeniable. Gerald is survived by his two daughters, Laura (Jeffrey) Williams of Huntington, IN, Lynnette (Adam) Sell of Huntington, IN; son, David (Brandi) Landrum of Huntington, IN; sister, Janet (Max) Morris of Ft. Wayne, IN; eight grandchildren, Halley, Chase, Mason, Grace, Haleigh, Kameron, Kaysin, Kyler; two great grandchildren, Henry, Harrison “Ollie”; and former wife, Lois Landrum. He is preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Landrum, and father, Dean L. Landrum. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday, April 14, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, April 14, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Larry Holderbaum officiating. Burial will follow in Shock Cemetery in Huntington.
