Gary L. Jackson

Gary Lee Jackson, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Born in Marion, Indiana, Gary was raised in Huntington, where he spent his formative years before building his career and business ventures in Indianapolis. Throughout his life, Gary possessed a strong entrepreneurial spirit and owned several businesses, always pursuing new opportunities with determination and independence. Gary's greatest passion was motorsports. That passion began at just 15 years old after attending the Indianapolis 500, an experience that sparked a lifelong love of racing. Whether at the track, following the sport, or sharing stories with fellow racing enthusiasts, motorsports remained one of the defining interests of his life. He was also an avid collector with an extensive collection of motorsports memorabilia and model trains, hobbies that reflected his appreciation for history, engineering, and craftsmanship. Survivors include his former wife and dear friend, Jan Jackson, his children, Micki (David) Massicotte, Calleen Hanlan, Priscilla (Grant) Beaumont. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandon Palmer, Jackson Massicotte, Sydney Massicotte, Jenna Bonesteel, Slyder Lewis, Owen Beaumont, Reed Beaumont; and nieces, Danielle Line, Racquel Mills, Shantiel Reeder. Gary had six loyal men that he considered his brothers, Dick (Daralene) Bowman, Larry Nance, Larry Parker, Mike Smith, John Stiefel, Tom Georgoulous. Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Heidi Jackson, granddaughter, Mariah Jackson, father, Richard Klingerman, mother, Esther Jackson and his surrogate parents, Dale & Marje Caley. Gary will be remembered for his entrepreneurial drive, his passion for racing, his lifelong enthusiasm for collecting motorsports and railroad memorabilia, and the memories he shared with family and friends throughout his life. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, July 31, 2026, with a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jason Fields officiating at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN.
