Christopher C. Diehl

Christopher “Chris” C. Diehl, 46, of Huntington, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023. Chris was born on August 21, 1977, in Auburn, IN, the son of Charles Diehl and Dianne (Klenke) Diehl. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1995 and attended Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne. Chris married Amanda “Mandy” Rich on April 24, 1999, in Huntington, IN. They shared 17 years of marriage before she preceded him in death August 15,2016. Chris and Angela D. Waymire blended their families on November 2, 2017, in Wabash. He was employed at Schnieder Electric of Huntington for 19 years in the returns department. Chris enjoyed working in the yard making sure his lawn presentation was perfect. He was especially passionate about planting Ginkgo trees due to their representation of hope, strength, and resilience. Chris would go on road trips with his wife to out-of-state nurseries looking for new plants and trees to add to his collection. He liked golfing, gaming, woodworking, going to Taco Bell and was an avid Chicago Bears football fan. Chris always wanted to make others laugh and appreciated the times spent around the fire pit with friends and family. He adored his three children more than anything in the world. Survivors include his wife, Angela D. Diehl of Huntington, IN; daughter, Samantha (Ethan Becker) Diehl of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Jacob (Aleigha Grunden) Diehl of Wabash, IN; bonus son, Ean Waymire of Peru, IN; father, Charles (Dorothy) Diehl of Angola; mother, Dianne Diehl of Huntington, IN; sister, Dawn Anders of Huntington, IN; father in-law, John (Debbie) White of Peru, IN; sister in-law, Lisa (Matt) Murphy of Peru, IN; brother in-law, Brain (Danielle) Rich of Huntington, IN; his cat Bae; his dog aka loyal best friend Boss. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Amanda (Mandy) Diehl. Please join us in celebrating the life and memory of Chris Diehl at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory in Fort Wayne, IN, on 9/17/23 between 11am-1pm. Chris loved plants and nature, and we know he would love to be celebrated with loved ones in a beautiful garden setting. Proceeding the visitation, the family guests are welcome to take a stroll through each of the Conservatory’s three indoor gardens as an homage to Chris’s life.
