Carol Sue Moss

Carol “Sue” Moss, 79, of Huntington, passed away at 6:13 am Sunday, November 23, 2025, at her residence surrounded by family. Sue was born on June 11, 1946, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Roger Shaw and Betty (Thorne) Shaw. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School with the class of 1964. Sue was a faithful member of TurnPionte Community Church of Markle, IN and she also belong to the Flamboyant Floozies of the Red Hat Society of Bluffton, IN. Sue worked at First Source Bank in Bluffton, Indiana for over 33.5 years. She was known for her dedication and service. Sue retired in 2009. Her positive impact is still remembered by those she worked with. Sue was known not only for her tireless work ethic but also for her remarkable dedication to the community. She generously shared her time teaching children about financial literacy and banking through Junior Achievement, shaping their understanding and responsibility from an early age. For over twenty years, she served as a 4-H leader in Lancaster Township, inspiring young people and families through her steadfast leadership. Each year, Sue also participated in the March of Dimes Walk, supporting the health of mothers and babies and demonstrating her ongoing commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. Her legacy of service, leadership, and education has left a lasting impact on her community and beyond. When Sue wasn’t busy giving back to her community, she found joy in the simple things, like tending to her flower gardens and reading her Bible each day. She cherished moments spent with her family, delighting in sharing stories and creating memories together. Sue especially loved driving her grandchildren around, savoring the small conversations and staying actively involved in their lives. Sue’s giving heart touched many lives and left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her strong faith, kindness and generosity will live on in those she cared for, inspiring others to carry her legacy of compassion forward. Survivors include her Daughter, Teresa M. (Shane) Prouty of Huntington, IN; Two Sisters, Marcia A. (Gerald) Arnold, Donna Jo Tyner both of Huntington, IN; Brother, Robert J. (Debra) Shaw of Warren, IN; Three Granddaughters, Alexandra (Jeremy) Plasterer, Cassandra (Jeffrey) Beeks, Mary Prouty; Great Grandsons, Zakory Plasterer, Jeddidiah Good, Ananiah Beeks, Ezuriah Beeks; Two Great Granddaughters, Aria Craig, Lyriel Plasterer; Several Nieces and Nephews; and Former Husband, David G. Moss of Bluffton, IN. She is preceded in death by her Father, Roger Shaw, Mother, Betty Shaw, Sister, Bonnie Dea Bouse, Granddaughter, Laci Good, Brother-in-law, John R. Tyner, Nephew, Matt E. Tyner. Honoring Sue's wishes, her family will hold a private burial at Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington.
