Buddy Brennan

Buddy Brennan, age 49, of Huntington, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, (January 11, 2015) at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday (January 15, 2015) at Huntington Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Road, Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (January 16, 2015) at Huntington Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Matt Bock officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington County. Preferred memorials are to Boys and Girls Club of Huntington County, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Buddy was born on September 23, 1965 in Illinois, the son of Leslie George and Bonnie (Johnson) Brennan. In 1984 he graduated from high school in Amarillo, Texas. He worked for Parkview Huntington Hospital for 28 years as a state-certified EMT-Basic Advanced and most recently as a Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher. In July of 2014, he became a member of Huntington Township Fire Department. He won multiple state awards including the Indiana Ambulance Competition Governor’s Cup, in which his team won yearly from 1994-1997. In Huntington County, Buddy was instrumental in promoting children wearing bicycle helmets and also advocated for the proper fitting of infant and child car seats. He also spearheaded Operation Prom in Huntington. He assisted in composing a grant to place AEDs in police cars, fire apparatuses, and the jail in Huntington. Buddy attended Huntington Church of Christ and was a member of Mizpah Shriners in Fort Wayne. Buddy participated in Joy Pleasers as “Paddle Pete” the clown. Buddy is survived by his fiancé, Daisy, of Huntington; his daughter - Ashley (Chris) Wine of Kentucky; his son - Brayden Brennan of Huntington; two sisters - Ann Marie (Bruce) Booher of Warren and Kathy (Phil) Lindsey of Huntington; one brother - Rick (Dottie) Brennan of Clearwater, Florida; one granddaughter - Alexis Wine; two nephews - Gregory Brennan and Jonathon Brennan, his niece - Danielle Brennan, his great nephew - Jordyn Yeargen, and two great nieces – Jazzlynn Yeargen and Mya Lindsey. His parents precede him in death.
