Bobby Vanover III

Bobby Vanover III, 82, of Huntington, passed away at 4:30 am Friday, October 25, 2024 at his residence. Bobby was born on May 1, 1942 in Pikeville, KY, the son of Leaf Vanover and Goldie (Stidham) Vanover. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. Bobby was a hardworking man, and he supported his family anyway he could. Bobby loved singing Karaoke, fixing cars, being on his boat, spending time with his family, and he enjoyed entertaining and hosting people at his house. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. Bobby could sell anything. He could buy something from someone, and then sell it back to them a week later for more money than he originally bought it from them for. Bobby was a caring, generous man and he had the biggest heart. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 2689. Survivors include his Wife, Jackie Vanover of Huntington, IN; Two Sons, Leaf A. (Maria) Vanover of Huntington, IN, Kain (Brandi) Vanover of Lewiston, ID; Daughter, Crystal (Daniel) Roy of Huntington, IN; Grandchildren, Maddison, Leaf L., Liam, Lynnox, Silas, Azure, Scarlet, Paige, and Chelsea; Great-Grandchild, Genevieve; Brother, David (Jeanie) Vanover of Mount Etna, IN; Three Sisters, Bertha (Tony) Arroyo of Bluffton, IN, Sylvania Vanover of Huntington, IN, and Jean Burns of Berne, IN. He is preceded in death by his 1st Wife, Jewel Vanover, Father, Leaf L. Vanover, Mother, Goldie Vanover, Sister, Carrie Kennedy, Sister, Betty Jo Young, Sister, Martha Parmelee, Brother, Enus Vanover, and Sister, Virgie Teardorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Military Honors rendered by the VFW Post 2689 Honor Guard. Burial will take place at Stahl Cemetery in Petroleum, IN.
