Billy Asher

Billy Asher, 57, of Huntington, passed away at 6:50 pm Sunday, June 16, 2024, surrounded by his family. Billy was born on October 11, 1966, in Huntington, IN, the son of James Asher and Prudie (Downey) Asher. He attended Huntington County Schools and received his GED. Billy married the love of his life Carolyn A. Slone on April 28, 2007, in Bevinsville, KY. He started at a young age working in construction and specialized in drywalling. Billy proudly owned and operated All American Drywall for 12 years. Billy enjoyed being outdoors, especially in the hills of Kentucky. He liked searching for deals at yard sales and selling items at various flea markets. Billy eagerly anticipated going to car shows and checking out the classic cars. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, no matter what kind of season they had. Billy was a grill master and looked forward to hosting cookouts for his friends and family. There was nothing more important to Billy than his family, he loved spending time and making memories with each of them. Survivors include his loving Wife of 17 years, Carolyn A. Asher of Huntington, IN; Children, William T (Autumn) Slone of Huntington, IN, Timothy D (Tabatha) Slone of Huntington, IN, Curtis W Slone of Huntington, IN, Brandi Newsome of Huntington, IN, Savannah Hartman of Ft. Wayne, IN; Siblings, Jerry (Vickie) Bolton of Dalton, GA, James Asher of Berne, IN, Dewayne (Wilma) Asher of Dalton, GA, Patricia Hopkins of London, KY, Brenda (Delbert) Burkhart of London, KY, Gidget Kelly of Huntington, IN, Mary Asher of Huntington, IN; Grandchildren, Taylor, Dominic, Peyton, Keegin, Anthony, Jacob, Sterling, and Lakelyn; Step-Mother, Thelma Irene Cook, London KY. He is preceded in death by his Father, James H. Asher, Mother, Prudie Asher, Twin Brother, Bobbie Asher, Brother, Brian Asher, Sister, Juanita Scalf, Brothers in law, Merrel Scalf and John Hopkins. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, June 20, 2024, and 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, June 21, 2024, at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Ave, Huntington, IN 46750. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 22, 2024, at First Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Brunk Conley officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
