Bill Foraker

Alonzo “Bill” William Foraker, 87, of Huntington, passed at 4:10 am Thursday, October 3, 2024, at his home. Bill was born on March 7, 1937, in Lagro, IN, the son of Jess Foraker and Ella (Burk) Foraker. He attended school until 8th grade then joined the workforce to help support his family. Bill married his true love Sharon Obenour, December 3, 1957, in Columbia City, IN. They shared 62 years of marriage before she preceded him in death January 28, 2020. Bill retired from Majestic of Huntington, after 43 years of loyal service. In his retirement years to stay busy he took a part time job at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 7 of Huntington. Bill liked to go fishing, mushroom hunting and bowling in his spare time. He enjoyed tinkering around in his garage and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. Bill was a proud provider for his wife Sharon and their children. He understood the importance of hard work and taking care of those he loved. Bill was lucky to feel it full circle, as he got older, he was surrounded by the loving family he and Sharon built. Survivors include his son, Rusty W. (Sonya) Foraker of Huntington, IN; daughters, Ann M. Cameron of Galloway, OH, Kathy E (Randy) Stroh of Huntington, IN, Karen L. Burk of Huntington, IN, Amber D. (Derek) Brandom of Columbia City, IN, Susie Biven of Huntington, IN; grandchildren, Wesli, Jordan, Jeff, Nickie, Marissa, Brayden, Elizabeth; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Imogene Smith of TN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon K. Foraker, father, Jess Foraker, mother, Ella Foraker, sisters, Pansy, Geneva, Mary, Louise, Brother, Jesse, grandsons, James Cameron, Codey Foraker-Burk, and Charles Burk. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Chaplin Ed Hippensteel officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Riverside Cemetery in Andrews.
