Betty L. McHenry

Betty L. McHenry, 86, of Milford, died at 10:47 am Saturday, July 17, 2021 at The Waters of Greencastle. Betty was born on April 15, 1935 in Allen County IN. The daughter of George Lincoln and Velma (Ferguson) Lincoln. She graduated from Huntertown High School with the class of 1953. She married Kenneth G. McHenry on December 19, 1971 in Ft. Wayne, IN; he preceded her in death on April 29, 1993. Betty had worked for over 48 years in banking and was employed by Farmers Bank, Lincoln National, Fifth Third and Midwest Commerce. She spent the last 25 years at Lake City Bank of Warsaw, where she retired as Senior Vice President and Auditor in 2008. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star for over 68 years and a Past Marton, Past Queen of Daughter of the Nile. She was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel U.M. Church. Betty enjoyed tending to her flowers gardens, crocheting and making items for Shriners Children Hospital in Chicago. Her love for dogs made her the perfect advocate in fundraising for ICAN Service Dog Program through the OES. Betty was proud to be a life time farmer in Indiana. Survivors include her Two Daughters, Diana Surfus of Milford, IN, Donna (David) Rohlfer of Cincinnati, OH; Son, John Surfus of Hamilton, IN; Sister, Barbara (Kenneth) Fritz of Ft. Wayne, IN; Two Brothers, Bill (Cheri) Lincoln of Bradenton, FL, David Lincoln of OH; Nine Grandchildren; Eleven Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Father, George W. Lincoln, Mother, Velma Lincoln, Husband, Kenneth G. McHenry, Son, James Surfus, Infant-brother, Larry Lincoln. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 22, 2021 Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jerry Brooks officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington, IN.
