Barbara J. Armstrong

Barbara J. Armstrong, 63, of Huntington, died at 5:40 am Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. Barbara was born on April 16, 1957 in Monterey, California on Fort Ord United States Army Base, the daughter of Herald Griffith and Henda (McCurley) Conley. She graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1975. Barbara obtained her Nursing Home Administrators License on April 18, 1986 from the University of Saint Francis. She married Timothy D. Armstrong on May 24, 1986 in Ft. Wayne, IN. They made their home in Huntington, IN. Barbara worked for Millers Merry Manor and Beverly Nursing Homes in Fort Wayne, IN. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Huntington. Growing up in a military family she found joy in traveling the world and seeing new places. Barbara was passionate about making homemade greeting cards for her friends and family as a little reminder she was thinking of them. She was an admirable seamstress who made her very own wedding dress. Barbara loved family gathering and researching her family genealogy. She is survived by her loving husband Timothy D. Armstrong of Huntington, IN; her two sons, Brandon D. (Amy) Armstrong of Middletown, DE and Michael D. Armstrong of Ft. Wayne; two daughters, Courtney J. (Ryan) Bonbrake of Huntington and Julie (Michael) Reidt of Ft. Wayne; two granddaughters, Addison J. Bonbrake and Leah Reidt; four grandsons, Owen D. Bonbrake, Evan L. Bonbrake, Daniel Armstrong and Ethan Reidt; mother, Henda Conley of Huntington, IN; two brothers, Randall (Brinda) Griffith of Liberty Center, IN and Daniel (Treena) Griffith of Huntington . Barbara was preceded in death by her Father, Herald Griffith. Visitation will be October 11, 2020 from 1 pm- 4 pm at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN, 46750. Funeral services will be held at Central Christian Church, 500 MacGahan St, Huntington, IN at 11 am on Monday, October 12, 2020 with Pastor Chris Hayden and Dr. Sam Young officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
