Adam Skinner

Adam P. Skinner, 45, of Huntington, passed away unexpectedly due to an undiagnosed heart condition on Monday, June 23, 2025. Adam was born on October 2, 1979, in Peru, IN, the son of Otis Skinner and Vicki (Lunon) Skinner-Bair. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1998 and continued his education at Indiana Wesleyan University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business management. Adam currently was a shift manager at BFGoodrich and previously worked at Harley Davidson of Fort Wayne & PHD, Inc. He was a proud officer and active member of the Son’s of The American Legion Post #85 of Huntington. Adam was a soul who truly knew how to live life to its fullest, spreading joy and kindness to everyone he encountered. His love for life was infectious, and his ability to connect with others was nothing short of extraordinary. Never one to turn away from an opportunity to lend a helping hand, Adam possessed a remarkable spirit, always ready to rise to any occasion. To him, life was a journey meant to be shared, and he made it his mission to enrich the lives of those around him. Among his many passions, Adam found solace on the open road as he rode his motorcycle, exploring new horizons and reveling in the beauty of the world around him. The freedom of the journey was a reflection of his adventurous spirit. He also particularly excelled in throwing himself wholeheartedly into projects, no matter if they involved constructing something from wood or crafting culinary masterpieces to share with others. Music was deeply woven into the fabric of Adam’s world. Whether at home or on the road, there was rarely a moment without a playlist filling the air. With his speaker turned up and his voice belting out lyrics, Adam made every song his own. Music was his escape, his joy, and his way of connecting with the emotions that words alone couldn't convey. Family was the foundation of Adam’s life. He always adored his relationship with mother and their unbreakable connection. Adam’s siblings were more than just family members—they were his closest friends, his lifelong allies, and his partners in countless adventures. He loved every moment they shared and all the memories they made throughout life. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Adam understood immediately that his daughter, Sam, and his granddaughter, Sophia, were at the very center of his world. Adam’s relationship with Sam was not just that of a father and daughter- it was a partnership, deeply rooted in mutual respect and love. From her earliest days, Sam was not only his pride and joy but also his closest confidante and his best friend. Adam often remarked with a smile that while he had raised Sam, she had taught him the true depth of love. Her presence in his life opened his heart in ways he had never imagined, and he cherished the lessons she brought to him as much as the guidance he gave her. He always put her first, and his devotion was evident in his every action. He never missed a single milestone in her life, from cheering her on at every softball game to seizing every opportunity to teach her something new. Motorcycle rides became a cherished tradition between Adam and Sam. From a young age, he would take her along on adventures, and in true Adam fashion, he made sure they had a matching vest. When Sophia, his granddaughter, entered the picture, Adam’s “Poppy” heart expanded to hold even more love. He adored Sophia with the same boundless affection, taking every chance to share his wisdom and create new traditions with her, just as he had done with her mother. He looked forward to taking her to Nick’s Kitchen for breakfast, watering the flowers, and hanging out in his garage working on his bikes. Sleepovers were often filled with staying up late watching TV and eating popcorn. As her Poppy, he wasn’t just her grandfather; he was her guide, her storyteller, and her biggest fan. He cherished the sound of her little voice calling out to him and the way her small hand fit perfectly within his. Sophia will always be one of his greatest gifts. Adam’s legacy will live on in those he shared his life with and for that the world is a better place. Survivors include his loving Mother, Vicki Skinner-Bair of Huntington, IN; Daughter, Samantha “Sam” (Aidan Wright) Skinner of Huntington, IN; Granddaughter, Sophia; Six Brothers, Scott (Melissa) Skinner of Monroe, IN, Rick (Chris) Skinner of Andrews, IN, Jeremy (Angie) Skinner of Huntington, IN, Ron (Cathy) Skinner of Marion, IN, Ken (Sandy) Skinner of TX, Arlan (Vicky) Skinner of Churubusco, IN; Sister, Heather Skinner of Andrews; Brotherly Cousin, Jeff (Jennifer) Meekin of Ft. Wayne, IN; several nieces & nephews; and his four legged companions Black and Klyde. He is preceded in death by his Father, Otis Dan Skinner and Cousin, Charles Curry. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 pm.
