William L. Davis

William L. Davis, 91, of Huntington, passed away at 4:45 pm Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center, Marion, IN. Bill was born on December 28, 1929 in Roanoke, IN, the son of Clarence L. Davis and Martha (Morrison) Davis. He graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1949 and earned his Electronics Degree from DeVry Technical Institute of Chicago, IL in 1957. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Bill retired from ITT of Ft. Wayne as an Electrical Engineer Technician after 30 years of service. He was a clay trap shooting state record holder, big game hunter, avid woodworker, expert fisherman, and passionately watched IU Basketball. Above all, Bill loved his family. His devotion to visiting and spending time with his family created lifelong memories for those he leaves behind. William was baptized on September 12, 1999 at Etna Ave Wesleyan Church. He was a member of the VFW Post #2689 of Huntington, the D.A.V. of Hartford City, the National Korean War Association, the NRA, and the Izaak Walton League of America for over 35 years. Survivors include his Son, John C. (Melinda) Davis of Andrews, IN; Daughter, Terry Ann Martin of Huntington, IN; Seven Grandchildren, and Nine Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Father, Clarence LeRoy Davis; Mother, Martha Mae Davis; Sister, Bonnie Prahst; Brother, Roger Davis; 1st Wife of 17 years, Marilyn Davis; and 2nd Wife of 36 years, Ann W. Davis. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Teddy Fairchild officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington with Military Honors performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington Humane Society Due to William’s love for dogs and his beloved Murphy of 20 years.
