Obituary for Steven Anderson
Steven Anderson, age 58, of Andrews, died Monday (March 1, 2010) at his home residence.
Steven was born on August 25, 1951, in Huntington, the son of Theodore R. and Eileen (Grossnickle) Anderson. He was a 1970 graduate of Huntington North High School. Steven married Cindy Searles-Karst on June 16, 2009 in Andrews and she survives.
Steven worked in maintenance for Ellison Bakery in Fort Wayne for 15 years. Prior to that, he worked for 12 years at Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife – Cindy Anderson of Andrews; mother and father-in-law – Arthur and Thelma Searles of Andrews; two daughters – Staci (Jason) Shenefield of Andrews, and Chanda (Chad) Blair of Fort Wayne; two step-daughters – Michelle (Anthony) Houston of Huntington, Jami Karst of Andrews; two step-sons – Donald Karst Jr. of Huntington, and Brad (Shannon) Karst of Huntington; one brother – Michael K. (Berna) Anderson of Roanoke; three nieces – Denise Anderson of Huntington, Dena Tiefel of Liberty, Missouri, Denee Bassitt of Delaware, Ohio; three sister-in-laws – Mary Searles of Huntington, Carol (Bill) Graham of Atlanta, Missouri, and Patricia (Bill) Bartrom of Huntington; a very special friend – Richard Sowles of Huntington; and nineteen grandchildren. His parents precede him in death.
Visitation will be 1 - 7 p.m. Wednesday (March 3, 2010) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (March 4, 2010), with visitation one hour prior to the service, also at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Pete Higginbothen officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Etna Cemetery, Huntington County.
