William F. Hartman, Jr., age 90, 5350 West Division Road,
Huntington, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (October 13, 2007) at
his son’s home in Huntington.
Mr. Hartman was retired in 1977 from Fisher Body, in Marion, Indiana, after working 22 years in welder maintenance. He was a member of the American Legion Post #85 and the Eagles Lodge #823, in Huntington, the Fisher Body Sympathy Club and the United Automotive Workers Union, both in Marion, Indiana.
William was born on July 22, 1917, in Huntington, the son of William F. Hartman Sr. and Laura (Zwick) Hartman. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1935. He then married Naomi Louise Tubbs, July 16, 1951, in Hartford City, Indiana. She died December 27, 1995. They had been married for 44 years. William was a Corporal during WW II with the United States Army Air Force.
Survivors include his three sons – William F. Hartman, III of Ft. Wayne, IN, Richard L. Hartman of Huntington and Steven W. (Angie) Hartman of Huntington, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters – Ruth Kaylor and Louise Minton, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm Tuesday (October 16, 2007) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. A graveside service will be at 10 am Wednesday (October 17, 2007) at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington.
