Remembrance Video for Richard D. Ziegler

Richard D. Ziegler, age 85, 633 Mayne Street, Huntington, died at 11:25 p.m.
Monday (October 30, 2006) at Beverly Specialty Care in Ft. Wayne.
Mr. Ziegler retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural Letter Carrier. He also worked as a Public Service lineman. Richard was a member of the Amity Masonic Lodge #483 F&AM, American Legion #85 and the V.F.W. Post #2689 all in Huntington. A lifetime resident of Huntington, Mr. Ziegler graduated from Huntington High School in 1939. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WW II.
Mr. Ziegler was born on February 23, 1921 in Huntington, the son of Vernon C. and Edith Ruth (Claus) Ziegler. On August 21, 1943, in Huntington, he and Kathryn V. Finney were married. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2002.
Survivors include one son – Jeffrey Scott (Joy) Ziegler of South Riding, Virginia; two daughters – Karen Soper of Indianapolis, IN and Kathy (Scott) Knecht of Huntington; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A sister, Evelyn Joan Bajzik, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Friday (November 3, 2006) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday (November 3, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Larry Holderbaum officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington. The V.F.W. Post # 2689 will perform military graveside services.
