Obituaries   

     Rex E. Szelis, age 75, 10522 South County Line Road, Zanesville, IN, died Saturday (September 24, 2005) at 8:51 am at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

     Mr. Szelis retired from International Harvestor in Ft. Wayne where he worked for over 22 years.  Prior to that, he worked for Orton Crane in Huntington.  Mr. Szelis was a 1947 graduate of Huntington Township High School.

     Mr. Szelis was born October 1, 1929, in Huntington, IN, the son of the late Benjamin R. and Verna (Wike) Szelis.  He married Rose M. Shaffer on August 31, 1963 in Huntington, IN.  Mr. Szelis was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the United States Army. 

     Survivors include his wife of 42 years – Rose M. Szelis of Zanesville, IN; three sons – Tim W. (Denise) Szelis of Huntington, IN, Tony C. Szelis of Zanesville, IN and Edward C. (Kay) Szelis of Huntington, IN; a sister – Mary Whicker of Indianapolis, IN and three grandchildren – Preston Szelis, Stephen Szelis and Jessica Szelis.  A brother, Kenneth Szelis and two sisters, Catherine Campbell and Dorothy Szelis, preceded him in death. 

     Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Monday (September 26, 2005) at Bailey-Love Mortuary.  Funeral services will be Tuesday (September 27, 2005) at 10 am at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Larry Elder officiating.  Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
